A close finish in Kilcoy summer tennis comp
The six-week series of summer fixtures for Kilcoy Tennis Club finished in thrilling style late last month as only one game separated the top two teams.
Chris Dench, Cliff Kopittke, Jenni Smith and Kylie Robinson were crowned winners of the Kilcoy Tennis Club’s summer competition.
The team comprising Chris Dench, Cliff Kopittke, Jenni Smith and Kylie Robinson was crowned the victor after winning 105 games while the next best team had 104 victories.
Doubles matches were played, with each match consisting of an eight-game set.
A presentation was held after the final round, and all players came together for morning tea.
Kilcoy Tennis Club president Gil Todd said, “Everyone agreed that the fixtures were a great success with a perfect balance of competition and fun.”
Nominations are now open for the autumn season which starts on Saturday April 22.
Play will take place on two courts, starting at 8am and finishing by about 9.45am.
Players are graded, and all levels are catered for. Cost is $5.
