The award, titled ‘My Golf Centre Term 3’, was presented at the Woodford golf venue on Wednesday January 24.

Woodford gained the accolade due to its program for juniors aged 4 to 16 years.

The junior program began in Woodford about two years ago, shortly after Dean Dagan took on the role of golf pro at the Woodford Golf Club.

Dean and fellow staff member Michael Brodie were prominently involved in the program, which involved all aspects of golf, including chipping, putting, bunkers, long game, short game, and on course play.

In the past six months, Michael conducted Wednesday clinics from 3.45pm to 4.45pm.

There were also four free clinics, with more than 10 participants in each as ages ranged from 4 to 18 years.

“The purpose of our program is to grow our junior membership, which has expanded from 20 juniors a year ago with now over 40 members,” Dean said.
