Broker of the year award for Elimbah resident
ELIMBAH resident Jen Bettridge recently achieved a career highlight as she was named Insurance Business Awards Australian Broker of the Year.
Jen has been a broker for more than 25 years, and recently she marked two years with the Ascot-based Clear Insurance.
Jen received a bouquet of flowers from the Clear Insurance team to acknowledge her two-year milestone with the business, before she had extra reason to smile as she attended the Insurance Business Australia Awards in Sydney.
The Elimbah resident said she was overjoyed to win the Broker of the Year award.
“I work in general insurance for businesses and owe my success to my client-first approach,” she said.
“I believe in giving clients the best advice to support their business interests.
“Even today there are no official career pathways within the insurance industry, you build your career as you go.”
As the clear leader at Clear Insurance, Jen said she was passionate about developing the next generation of risk and insurance advisers with clear career pathways, training and mentoring.
Jen said the team she led was “a brilliant and dedicated team of professional women”, with all of the staff at different stages of their career.
“We share our knowledge to support the growth and development of the whole team, so we can all flourish,” she said.
Insurance Business Australia revealed at the awards night that there had been an overwhelming number of nominees from across Australia.
Jen was one of six shortlisted as finalists for the Broker of the Year – Authorised Representative category. The winners of seven broker award categories were finalists for Australian Broker of the Year.
The seven broker awards in the running were the category winners for Young Gun of the Year – Independent (1-19 staff), Young Gun of the Year – Independent (20+ staff), AXA XL Young Gun of the Year – International, Broker of the Year (1-19 staff), Broker of the Year (20+ staff), Broker of the Year – Specialist, and Broker of the Year – Authorised Representative.
