Bulls pull the pin in Volunteers Cup C grade rugby league

The Brisbane Valley Bulls have withdrawn from the Ipswich Rugby League (IRL) Volunteers Cup C grade competition, following a horror 44-8 loss to the Rosewood Roosters at Laidley Recreation Ground last Saturday.

The end is nigh…the Brisbane Valley Bulls are a dispirited bunch at half-time in their match against Rosewood at Laidley last Saturday. After things became a whole lot worse in the second half, it was decided that the struggling club would withdraw from the Volunteers Cup C grade competition with five rounds left.

The future of the Esk-based rugby league club remains in limbo after player-coach Craig Melville declared his intention to step aside.

It was ‘the last straw’ or ‘the straw that broke the camel’s back’, as the situation had become increasingly dire for the club as the season progressed.
