Bureau updates flood watch
The Bureau of Meteorology has updated the flood watch warning for Somerset and Moreton Bay regions.
With showers and rain forecast over the next 24 hours, the Bureau is warning already saturated catchments will not be able to absorb additional rain.
While any flooding is not expected to go above minor levels, the Bureau said catchments are likely to react ‘quickly’ to inflows.
The main areas of concern are the Pine and Caboolture Rivers in Moreton Bay region, and the Upper Brisbane River in the Somerset region.
Residents and road users are urged to remember, ‘If it is flooded, forget it’, and not enter floodwaters.
