Family and friends are invited to attend or enter their cars, and 50% of profits will be donated to Tullawong State School to fund new amenities and schooling equipment.

Founder and CEO of CardiGras Rohan Robertson said last month’s event attracted a total of 50 attendees and over 20 cars.

Rohan said he expects this number to be closer to 100 next week with the addition of market stalls and food trucks, including Pizza Gal.

Three trophies will be awarded – ‘Best Vehicle in Show’ sponsored by Tullawong State School, ‘Best Club Display’ sponsored by Aztec Automotive and ‘People’s Choice’ sponsored by Season’s Seniors Living.

There is still time for car and market stall holders to register their interest for this event on January 14.

The CardiGras Breakfast with Cars event will run every month from now on at Tullawong State School, with three special events pencilled in for February 24, May 26 and August 18.

In addition to the car show, market stalls and food vans, these “CardiGras Mid-Term Mania” night time events will also feature live concerts, with the Super Trouper ABBA Tribute Band already booked-in for the February event.

After establishing CardiGras just over two years ago, Rohan is ready for them to go “big time and grow” with monthly shows also being held at Gatton, Plainland, Walloon, Redcliffe and Kallangur.

Rohan got into event management just over 11 years ago when he became a full-time carer for his wife and could only work a few hours a week.

As a car enthusiast himself, Rohan hopes that 2023 will see more businesses come abroad as sponsors – it costs only $25 to sponsor a trophy.

He is also on the search for more local market stall holders and artists/bands hoping to attend.

“We are looking for venues for the second, third and fourth Friday of the month, 5pm-9pm. Preferably with lights big enough to have up to 100 cars and 50 market stalls.

“We are also looking for venues for Saturday morning or Saturday Twilight events.”
