Condensery to feature significant artist

The Condensery will take centre stage in Queensland’s vibrant arts and cultural scene, with an upcoming exhibition and performance featuring the works of Lionel Fogarty, one of Australia’s most significant living poets, artists, and activists.

The exhibition is part of the Queensland Government’s substantial investment of over $1.2m, supporting 21 diverse projects across the state.

As a key recipient within the latest round of the Queensland Arts Showcase Program (QASP), the Condensery’s initiative is one of many projects under the QASP umbrella, which spans various art forms, including new music, musical theatre, literature, and visual arts.

Other projects will allow First Nations editors to commission, develop, publish, and promote new works by First Nations writers.

Arts Minister, Leeanne Enoch, highlighted the significance of the investment.

“Queensland’s incredibly diverse and talented artists and arts organisations play an essential role documenting and presenting our state’s unique stories, activating communities, and attracting visitors,” she said.

“Investment in the development of new arts will help ensure Queensland is well positioned to showcase our unique stories on the global stage of the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.”
