Somerset Councillor Kylee Isidro (pictured) and member of the Economic Development and Tourism Advisory Committee said Council continues to invest in the region and attracting visitors and increasing overnight expenditure in the region.

“Council has implemented several initiatives since the adoption of the tourism strategy in May 2021, including the redevelopment of the Experience Somerset website, complemented by the new destination clip, new visitor guide and more,” Cr Isidro said.

“Council has also invested in delivering operator development and enhancement programs, improved Brisbane Valley Rail Trail infrastructure and coordinated promotion of events and activities.”

The review of the Somerset Tourism Strategy follows Council’s recent decision to align with the Southern Queensland Country Regional Tourism Organisation.

“This is a strategic move that Council believes will see a greater promotion of Somerset and development of products and experiences in the lead-up to the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games,” Cr Isidro said.
