New industrial lots approved for Kilcoy
Somerset Regional Council had conditionally approved two new industrial lots east of Kilcoy.
Economic recovery subgroup representative Councillor Bob Whalley said the new lots provided more options for the region.
“While council had some concerns about the shape and topography of the land, we have been able to satisfy ourselves that this development meets the requirements of the planning scheme,” Cr Whalley said.
“Kilcoy is of course, home to Somerset’s largest employer, Kilcoy Global Foods as well as other large industrial enterprises.
“We are really looking forward to receiving sound development applications that might see these new industrial lots becoming job generators for our region.
