Minister for Fire and Emergency Services, Mark Ryan, said the Queensland SES had a proud history of helping, protecting and educating the communities.

“Whether it’s first aid, flood boat operation, technical rescue or land search, SES volunteers can often be the difference between life and death,” Mr Ryan said.

“To back our SES, the government has increased its funding commitment this year by over seven percent, bringing it to record levels.”

The SES has about 6000 volunteers who perform a diverse range of functions when responding to local, state and national emergencies.
