Residents are encouraged to donate school supplies, personal hygiene products, uniform items and non-perishable food to assist students.

Donation boxes have been set up at three of Council’s library branches.

Council’s director of Human Resources and Customer Service, Kerri-Lee Jones, said conversations with the schools highlighted there were many families in need.

“Some families are doing it really tough, and some are struggling to get all the school supplies they need,” Ms Jones said.

“So, to help support these families in need, council has set up donation points at its larger library branches in Esk, Kilcoy and Lowood.”

Students at Lowood, Kilcoy and Toogoolawah state high schools will receive all the donations.

“Council is proud to work with the community and support those in need,” she said.
