NEARLY $700 was raised at Embracia in Woodford on Monday last week as the venue hosted a Go Pink Day for the first time.

The occasion was a sea of pink as attendees wore pink colours, while there were pink balloons and pink-coloured tablecloths.

Event spokesperson and Embracia lifestyle coordinator Leeann Swan said the staff “really got behind the fundraiser” while the residents “had a ball”, and that family members of residents also attended.

“We would like to do this every year if possible,” she said.

The event was arranged to raise funds for research into prevention, detection, quality of life, and new and improved treatments for breast cancer, after an Embracia staff member was diagnosed with breast cancer last year.

Morning tea and raffles took place, while games included bra pong, and a race to see who could put a bra on the fastest.
