Fire ban Wednesday

A total fire ban has been issued in the Somerset region this Wednesday.

The ban is also applicable to the Gold Coast, Logan, Scenic Rim, Ipswich and Lockyer Valley areas. 

This means no fires in the open air, including anywhere outside such as a deck, balcony, courtyard or park.

Cooking outside is restricted to gas and electric barbecues only, with conditions.

Additionally, welding and grinding will not be permitted.

Penalties apply for anyone caught breaching the rules.
