Georgina named 2022 Somerset campdraft champion
GEORGINA Youles and her “pocket rocket” Ebony took home the 2022 winner’s rug of the Somerset Series Novice Draft, after achieving the highest accumulated points across the local drafts last year.
Georgina Youles said she is super proud of Ebony who came back from injury to earn the 2022 Somerset Series Novice Draft winner’s rug.
Despite rain forcing a number of events to be cancelled, Gina was able to score 268 points across the season.
“There were only three local drafts that ran to completion last year, and unfortunately Ebony was out with an injury for one of them.”
Gina said she has always loved campdrafting and has been competing since she was eight years old at Pony Club.
“I started attending more campdrafts after I finished school in 2014,” she said.
“Last year was only Ebony’s second year of campdrafting.
“She’s definitely one of the most talented horses I’ve ever ridden.”
