Toogoolawah State High School has been thrilled to receive a horse float and trailer, courtesy of the former Izaac Brindley Association.

This Association was formed by a local group of people whose ambition is to enable people to be the best they want to be, deepen individual leadership, learn, make a positive difference, contribute and have positive experiences through kindness, inclusion, encouragement, involvement, respect and mutual interests.

It was founded to support local man Izaac Brindley, who wanted more from his life.

Izaac’s medical and physical challenges are no barrier, and he simply works through and around them.

More than 11 years ago, Izaac had a taste of being around horses from Riding for Disabled Association, which was enjoyable although he had limited riding opportunities and experiences.

Izaac went to a cutting clinic last year and found his passion in life.
With the support of genuine caring people around him, Izaac started his own Association.

Through medical struggles, tests, illness, medication, specialists and surgical waiting lists, and anticipating a good result which never comes, Izaac always had the dream of being with and living around horses, and in particular to train his own cutting horse.

Izaac met a mentor horseman, and immediately a bond formed.

Izaac’s confidence and ability have bloomed after being around caring horse owners and trainers. He is quite an accomplished horseman now, regardless of all the detractors and barriers because he was determined to do it.

The time has come for Izaac to pursue his dream on a personal level rather than with the Association, which has shut down. There was strong agreement from the group to donate the float and trailer to a group that would benefit more young people.

Toogoolawah State High School has been thrilled with the donation, indicating that it would be of great support to the Cattle Show Team and would be used across the various agricultural programs.

Staff at the school have much admiration for Izaac and the group that supports such important work in the community, and feel honoured that the Association’s legacy in the community is the school’s gain.
