Kilcoy Chamber of Commerce receives mental health wellness grant

THE Kilcoy Chamber of Commerce has successfully applied for funding to support the mental wellbeing of local small business owners and their staff.

State Member for Nanango, Deb Frecklington, congratulated the Kilcoy Chamber on this, saying she was passionate about the issue of access to mental health support and services in regional areas.

Mrs Frecklington said it was great to see the Kilcoy Chamber taking the lead and supporting the mental health of its members.

“As a passionate advocate for access to better mental health support in regional areas, it is excellent to see groups like the Kilcoy Chamber of Commerce embrace this funding opportunity,” she said.

“I was really pleased to catch up with Kilcoy Chamber president Lee Robinson, and discuss how this grant will support small businesses in the Kilcoy area to address the mental health challenges faced by owners and their staff each and every day.

“The Kilcoy Chamber is going from strength to strength and I would like to congratulate them on having the foresight to apply for this funding and provide this unique opportunity for the business community.

“I understand they will be running a Business Resilience Workshop in August with wellness advocate, Donna Thistlethwaite, and I look forward to hearing about the positive outcomes I know this program will bring.”
