Hamood and her horse Jane Fonda DVD proved to be a successful combination, as they remained in first place in the Australian World Cup League.

More than 640 horses and about 350 riders from around Australia and New Zealand took part throughout the four days in Caboolture, and a crowd of about 1300 rocked up for the Saturday night Peachester Lodge Caboolture World Cup.

Hamood won the feature class in the indoor arena on the Friday, as she had the only double clear in the 1.45m Riders Cup.

The Kilcoy rider also went double clear the following night in the World Cup event, and recorded a superb time of 44.98 seconds to win the Bob Major Memorial Trophy.

Having enjoyed a lot of success together over the years, Hamood and Jane Fonda DVD won the Australian Showjumping Championships in February this year, and then came third in World Cup events in Victorian locations Werribee and Shepparton.

Should they finish the Australian World Cup League in top spot, they would qualify for the World Cup final in the US state of Nebraska.

Having won a World Cup title in 2016 on another horse, named Nero GHP, Hamood came close to winning a World Cup title with Jane Fonda DVD a number of times before finally achieving it at QSEC.

“I really loved the Caboolture World Cup, it makes it even more special to win my ‘hometown’ (so to speak) World Cup,” Hamood said.

The Kilcoy rider said it was also the first time she had all of her family come from Adelaide to watch.

“It was also special because I feel this horse has deserved this win for a very long time,” Hamood said.

“She has been so consistent at the top of the sport for a few years now.”

Hamood said if she could keep her cool and ride well, her horse rarely let her down.

“She really is a once-in-a- lifetime horse,” Hamood said.

Next, Hamood is preparing for round four of the League, to be staged at Larapinta in the last week of July before the rest of the season takes place down south.

Queensland Showjumping Club spokesperson Mechelle Williams said the recent four- day event at QSEC was a great success and the new grass arenas performed well.

“The World Cup was held over a great course and was exciting for all to watch,” she said.
