Landcare Awards open
Queensland Water and Land Carers (QWaLC), in partnership with Landcare Australia, is excited to present the 2023-2024 Queensland Landcare Awards, which are now open for nominations.
Queensland has multiple Landcare Award categories, recognising people who actively engage in climate action and work to create healthier, more resilient and productive landscapes and communities.
Mary-Lou Gittins OAM, chairperson of Queensland Water and Land Carers, said the Landcare Awards program provides a valuable opportunity to celebrate outstanding locals and inspire others to make an impact in the community.
Brad Wedlock, operations manager of the Mary River Catchment Coordinating Committee (MRCCC), said, “If you’re considering nominating someone, they will be delighted to be recognised for their achievements, especially if they are quiet achievers.”
