2021 Brisbane Airshow postponed

Brisbane Airshow organisers yesterday postponed the event, due to be held at Watts Bridge Memorial Airfield on 3-4 July, until 16-17 October 2021 due to COVID-19 restrictions on travel.

Australian Airdisplays director Gill Vardi informed sponsors including Somerset Regional Council that the restrictions in Queensland and other states prevented flight crew, exhibitors and ticket holders from attending.

“We are asking all of our sponsors, pilots, Aviation Expo, Education Alley, foodies, merchants and contractors to roll with us to 16 and 17 October, when we will be better placed to deliver a healthier, safer, and wider immunised air show.”

Ordinary meeting of Somerset Regional Council

Somerset Region is among the 11 Local Government Areas subject to the three-day lockdown that came into effect at 6pm yesterday, preventing access by media representatives and members of the public to Council’s Ordinary Meeting scheduled to begin at 9am today (30 June). But you can follow the meeting on Council’s audio live stream at https://www.facebook.com/SomersetRegionalCouncil/ We look forward to seeing you at the first opportunity of an open meeting.
