Beerburrum Road petition tabled in Parliament…and now we wait!

a petition, with 215 signatures, calling on the Government to resurface Beerburrum Road has been tabled in the Queensland Parliament.

Beerburrum mum Kirsty Levis and Member for Glass House Andrew Powell MP started the petition to resurface Beerburrum Road between McDougall Road and Eaton Road and avoid serious motor vehicle and cyclist accidents.

“We’ve also called on the Government to restore the speed limit back to 100km/hr after they fix the road” said Mr Powell.

The Minister for Transport and Main Roads now has 28 days to respond to the petition, and the Member for Glass House is hoping for a positive response.

“This road has been a local frustration for years. I’ve contacted the Minister many times asking for it to be fixed.  With no success.”

“Now that the Minister can see for himself how locals feel about the state of this State road. I call on him to take serious action for the safety of our locals and tourists alike,” concluded Mr Powell.
