Many gem shows in south-east Queensland this year have been postponed or cancelled, but hopes are high for the Caboolture-based event as there has been a great response from traders and tailgaters to be at the event.

This will be the first time that some of the traders have been at a Caboolture Gem Fest, meaning there is bound to be materials that some people have not seen before.

Everybody has the opportunity to resupply their stock of stones, lapidary equipment and hand tools, and even buy the occasional Christmas gift.

Raffles will also be on offer, and children’s activities include creating the perfect pet rock.

A barbecue, sandwiches, a good cappuccino and all sorts of treats will also be available.

The cost to enter is $5, while under 16s are admitted for free.

Proceedings start at 9am and conclude at about 4pm.

Masks, social distancing and signing in with QR codes or leaving details for tracing are all mandatory.

Hand sanitiser will also be available throughout the venue.
