Car and trailer fire, Blackbutt Range

POLICE are investigating after three people were injured in a car fire at Moore on Sunday March 28.

Around 2.05pm, a vehicle towing a trailer was travelling along the D’Aguilar Highway towards the Blackbutt range when it caught fire.

All three occupants managed to flee the vehicle, however the 73-year-old female rear-passenger received significant burns. Paramedics stabilised the woman before she was airlifted to the Princess Alexandra Hospital where she remains in a serious but stable condition.

A man and woman from Narangba, both aged 53-years-old, who had been seated in the front of the vehicle, sustained superficial burns and were transported to Kilcoy Hospital before being later released.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
