Craft fair a success for CWA

MEMBERS of the Esk CWA branch are celebrating the success of the recent Craft Fair, held in conjunction with the Esk Garden Club fair.

Patti Jaenke, organiser of the annual craft fair, said the fair not only sold out of food, but stall holders all reported strong sales through the day.

“It was a raging success, it felt like every one of the 6,000 visitors to the Garden Fair came to the CWA Hall,” Mrs Jaenke said.

“We sold 18 dozen scones by 1pm, plus all of our sandwich packs were by the end of the day.”

Mrs Jaenke said the stall holders were thrilled by the amount of floor traffic through the hall, and many have already begun planning for the 2023 event.

Capping off the day’s success for the CWA, a donated rocking chair was ‘yarn bombed’ by members, Mrs Jaenke said, which was then auctioned to raise funds for the branch.

“Local auctioneer Wayne Jaenke ran the auction for us, and it eventually sold for $500, with publican of the Esk Grand Hotel, Joe Abeya the successful bidder.”
