Energex crews were being flown into Sandy Creek to repair damaged power lines in the wake of last week's flooding.
Energex crews were being flown into Sandy Creek to repair damaged power lines in the wake of last week's flooding.

One crew working in the Sandy Creek area found roads blocked by debris, preventing them from carrying out repairs, and needing to use a helicopter to fly into the worksite.

A fallen tree brought down powerlines in the Sandy Creek area, preventing power from being reconnected.

Crews expected to have power reconnected by 7pm tonight, however they warned predicted storm activity could impact on operations, with helicopters unable to operate in poor weather.

While the main power line is expected to be repaired today, Energex warned there could be other faults in the system, that will not be identified until power is reconnected.
