Unfortunately, over the long weekend Moreton Police attended multiple traffic crashes where occupants were injured or lost their lives.

Police were out enforcing road safety measures and issued 369 traffic infringements for the period from April 1 to April 9, including six mobile phone offences, nine seat belt offences and 122 speeding offences.

Police performed 760 roadside breath tests, recording eight positive tests for drink driving.

They also recorded 12 positive roadside drug tests.

With National Road Safety week commencing May 16, police urge all road users to please stay safe and remember the Fatal Five – speeding, drink/drug driving, fatigue, lack of seatbelts and distractions.
