Murray and Brown Lord show best weaners at Coolabunia
Aussie Land and Livestock, Kingaroy, hosted their annual weaner show and sale at the Coolabunia Saleyards on Thursday 15 April. The prize for the grand champion pen of weaners, $1,000 donated by Aussie Land and Livestock, was won by Murray and Bronwyn Lord of Kingaroy with Charbray steers.
Agent Midge Thompson said an exceptional line-up of over 900 local weaners were presented with prices for the majority of steers over the $6/kg mark and reaching almost $7/kg for lighter end of the steer runs.
“The market was on fire. You could say it was electric,” Midge Thompson of Aussie Land and Livestock said.
“Heifers sold to a dearer trend on recent sales, but with the increase in quality, it was to be expected,” Midge added.
