Neumann backs mobile clinic call

Shayne Neumann, Federal MP for Blair, is supporting calls for mobile vaccination clinics to operate throughout the Somerset region.

Federal MP Shayne Neumann is backing calls for mobile vaccine clinics to travel to small towns throughout the Somerset region

Mr Neumann said vaccination is a bi-partisan issue, and he supports calls by Somerset Mayor Graeme Lehmann and Nanango MP Deb Frecklington for the mobile clinics to work in the district.

"We can have mobile breast screen clinics going to the small towns, why can't we have a mobile vaccination clinic travel with them?" Mr Neumann said.

"We can put vaccination clinics in amusement parks, hardware stores and other places, we need to have them mobile as well."

Mr Neumann said vaccination rates must improve, and with Somerset having a widespread, ageing population, it made sense to take clinics on the road to smaller centres.

"Places like Harlin, Linville, Moore, it is a long drive for anyone, let alone elderly people, let's take the service to them.

"COVID is becoming the pandemic of the unvaccinated, that is not to say vaccinated people won't get sick, they will, but it will be so much worse for the unvaccinated.

"The key is vaccination, I support anything that helps improve vaccination rates."
