Pfizer Mobile Clinic coming to Esk
West Moreton Health will set up a temporary Pfizer Mobile Clinic in Esk to improve the level of access to Covid-19 vaccinations in rural and remote communities within the West Moreton region.
At the temporary mobile clinic, only Somerset Regional Council residents will be vaccinated, and people must produce proof of residence before their appointment can proceed.
West Moreton Health Chief Executive Dr Kerrie Freeman said the expanding vaccination rollout was a significant logistical feat, supported through close partnerships between health services, Primary Health Networks, GPs, pharmacies and community leaders across the country.
“I would like to thank Mayor Graeme Lehmann for helping ensure Somerset residents can access the vaccination in Esk and expand on the existing vaccination service provided by the local pharmacy,” Dr Freeman said.
The temporary mobile vaccination clinic will be at the Somerset Civic Centre from Tuesday 31 August until Saturday 4 September. The clinic will return to Esk to provide second doses.
In areas with reduced primary care provision, such as Esk, vaccines will be offered to everyone over the age of 16 in line with Queensland’s whole-of-community vaccination approach for rural and remote communities.
Bookings are strongly recommended. Each day of clinic operation, only the required amount of vaccine will be transported to the location, limiting capacity for walk-ins.
