Plane crash kills two at Commissioners Flat

Two people died following a plane crash at Commissioners Flat (between Woodford and Peachester) on Wednesday afternoon (23 June, 2021).

A multi-agency search was launched around 5.30pm when it was reported overdue in returning to Maroochydore airport. Preliminary inquiries indicate the plane crashed in bushland along Commissioners Flat Road and was discovered around 8.30pm.

Two men, aged 46 and 30, were discovered and pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Forensic Crash Unit are currently assisting other agencies, including the Australian Transport Safety Bureau, as investigations continue.
