Rainy week looms

An impending wet week in the Somerset and Moreton areas began with rain throughout much of Sunday night and the early hours of Monday morning.

Woodford and Kilcoy recorded 23mm of rain in the 24 hours leading up to 9am on Monday, compared with 21mm at Hazeldean, 25mm at Lowood, 26mm at Wivenhoe Dam, 27mm at Somerset Dam, and 31mm at Linville and Gregor Creek. 

A spokesperson from the Bureau of Meteorology (BoM) said widespread rain was expected in south-east Queensland today and on Thursday, while there was also a good chance of rainfall in parts of the area on Tuesday and Wednesday. 

Isolated thunderstorms are expected in various regions today, including Caboolture and Esk.
