Road safety message at Fernvale markets

ROAD safety will be promoted at the Fernvale Country Markets on Sunday, December 5.

The aim is to raise awareness for all road users of the Fatal Five: speeding, drink and drug driving, seatbelt use, fatigue, and inattention/distraction.

There will also be a refresher on road rule knowledge to improve overall road safety.

A road safety demonstration will take place at 9am or 11am, conducted by Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) and State Emergency Service (SES).

The simulated trauma incident narrated by QFES, the Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) and Queensland Police Service (QPS) aims to educate the community that road safety is everyone’s responsibility.

There will be great activities for all ages with plenty of road safety information.

Attendees can have their photo taken with local emergency services.

The visual display and community engagement part of the event will address dangerous driver behaviours.
