Somerset truck driver tests positive for COVID
An unnamed truck driver based in the Somerset region has tested positive to COVID while working in New South Wales, sending his family into a 14 day home quarantine.
The driver subsequently tested negative for the disease, and was praised by Dr Jeanette Young, Queensland’s Chief Health Officer, for following official procedures.
“We are not concerned about the risk in the community, the drivers all followed prcedures when they returned home,” Dr Young said.
“They tested were tested in New South Wales and returned a positive result, New South Wales notified us, they were tested here, and returned a negative result.
“I need to get more information from New South Wales.”
