Toogoolawah Bridge Club continues to build
SINCE its inception in 2017 the Toogoolawah Bridge Club has continued to grow both in numbers and strength. Many of the members are involved in community activities either as providers of services or as volunteers in Community Groups, sometimes both.
One of their long-standing members, Graham Francis, aka ‘Frosty’, retired after several decades in the Rural Fire Services in Queensland. On Tuesday, May 18, the Bridge Club held a special afternoon tea at the Toogoolawah Hotel to celebrate Frosty’s many decades of hard, and often dangerous work, for the local community. All members are proud to call him a friend.
Despite the difficulties of 2020, the Bridge Club has recovered well, and players skills also continue to improve, helped along with regular lessons from some of their wonderful friends from the Toowong Bridge Club and online mentoring from one of Australia’s leading Bridge players, Paul Marston.
They now also have connections with Ipswich Bridge Club and always welcome visitors to their session either from 1.30pm on Tuesday or from 2.30pm Sunday afternoons at Toogoolawah Hotel, Toogoolawah.
