Massive crowd for Esk races

The Esk Jockey Club (EJC) was packed last Saturday afternoon as about 2000 people flocked to the EJC’s July race meet on a fine sunny day.

The Noriyuki Nishio-ridden Good Grab wins race two at Esk by half-a-length, while the runner-up is the Kenji Yoshida-ridden Spirit of Luck.

Six horse races took place while there was plenty of action away from the race track, with many attendees donning colourful and stylish attire as the Fashions on the Field proved immensely popular.

EJC secretary Sharon Cowley said it was “the best crowd in many years for any Esk meeting”, and that “all food venues were more than happy with their takings, as were the bars”.
