The fundraising event will be held at the Somerset Civic Centre in Esk on August 19 and celebrate the Spirit of Somerset.

Somerset Mayor Graeme Lehmann said the black-tie gala ball will feature three courses, beverages, auctions, live entertainment and music.

“This event is one not to be missed and it’s important to remember that all money raised from this popular event goes into a trust account for applications made under the Mayoral Gala Charity Ball fund,” Cr Lehmann said.

“Since the first mayoral ball in 2017, more than $75,000 has been raised for charitable causes and the event has received rave reviews from attendees, establishing the Mayoral Gala Charity Ball as a high-quality black-tie function.

“Over the years, we’ve been able to help (with the support of the community and local businesses) dozens of families impacted by natural disasters and unfortunate events.”

The Mayoral Gala Charity Ball Fund supports and assists charities that assist people suffering from disability, homelessness, trauma, abuse, or neglect in the Somerset region.

The funds are held in trust by Council to be distributed to approved charities under the Mayoral Gala Charity Ball Funds Policy.

Tickets for the event cost $150 each or tables of eight can be purchased for $1120 and will include a three-course meal, drinks package, entertainment and more.

The event is proudly sponsored by the Lowood and Fernvale Community Bank (Bendigo Bank), Kilcoy Global Foods, King and Co, Urban Utilities and Clean Co Energy.
