The group is open to all ambitious and motivated mums and women in business, and is one of 160 Mums in Business Networking Groups across the globe.

Founded by Leona Burton in 2020, the purpose of this group was to provide kid- friendly events for women to come and share tips, strategies and advice on a range of topics including sales, social media, list building, planning and launching.

Morayfield Group leader, owner and Chief Executive Officer of The Holistic Health Counsellor, Sian Holderness, said members meet monthly for a coffee catchup and local businesswomen are given the opportunity to present a pitch as a guest speaker at each event.

“The purpose of this group is to gather local mums in business and let them know that they are seen, heard and supported,” she said.

After going to one meeting with the Moreton Bay group back in June, Sian decided Morayfield also needed its own group.

“I am a massive introvert and was scared to talk to people, but I felt so supported in the group,” she said.

The November in-person event last Tuesday was held at Lisa’s Willow Tree Cafe.

Women in attendance owned a range of different business providing products such as handmade candles, herbal teas and party décor and services including fitness and nutrition coaching and counselling, remedial massage, property management and transformational coaching.

Amanda of Mums Run the World Fitness and Wellness Centre was this month’s guest speaker, and she talked about building a positive relationshipwith fitness.

“It’s not about dieting and losing weight, but about how you feel,” she said.

As a single mum of three kids, Amanda said exercising helped her to relieve stress and improve her mental health after being in an abusive relationship for eight years.

“I didn’t want any other women to feel as alone and isolated as me,” she said.

She said a lot of women also have negative associations with the word “exercise” and she encourages everyone to “throw out the scales”.

After running through a few breathing techniques with the group, Amanda went through a number of different exercises that help mothers to reduce their aches and pains.

Sian said all women from Morayfield and surrounds are welcome to join their growing network of businesswomen and can do so by joining the Mums in Business Int. Networking Morayfield and Surrounds Facebook group.

The next event is a Christmas Business Bonanza on December 15, which will give mums the opportunity to showcase their business to the local community.

Brenda of Centrih Scents was this month’s winner of the prize donated by Renee from Arbonne. Transformational coach Robyn Gray also donated a free introductory coaching session, which was won by Renee.
