Marking the first event of its kind in the Wamuran area, yoga instructors, kinesiologists, speaking coaches, website designers, financial advisors and jewellery makers came with their pockets full of business cards and a “ready-to-mingle attitude”.

Web-Sta Web Design Founder and business coach Karen Ahl said the first PEAK Networking event for the year was created for “conscious and savvy business owners that are genuinely invested in elevating their personal and professional growth as well as the greater business community”.

“I’ve been asked by clients for a very long time to put something on and I’m a bit of a connector,” Karen said.

“I’ve got lots of clients in different industries.”

Whilst Karen had heard of a couple of networking events in Woodford, she said this was the first one in Wamuran.

“We’ve had the pandemic, so there’s that desire for face- to-face connection to come back.

“People who regularly meet get to know each other and so you get to intimately learn more about someone else’s business.

“So even if you don’t want to work with them, it actually becomes easier for you to refer those people to other people.”

Each attendee to the launch event received a “goodie bag” with everyone’s business cards, sample packs and vouchers.

“There’s a bunch of other little bits and pieces that my business clients have actually contributed to the bags as well.”

In each bag, Karen also included a “conscious networking sheet” which gives people more purpose with their networking.

“Who do they want to connect with during the year?

“That’s what that sheet is all about.”

After launching her web design business in 2006, Karen is now looking to formalise her other hat – business coaching.

Karen started her coaching business last year, and is preparing to relaunch her “Profit Program” which helps business owners achieve efficiency, profitability and recurring revenue and marketing.

Using her coaching expertise, Karen hopes to introduce more purposeful and unique networking events and activities to Wamuran, including “Weave & Chai” and “Paint & Chai” workshops.

The next creative workshop is scheduled for March 5.
