Deputy Mayor Helen Brieschke (pictured) said it showed that Somerset was a desirable place to live.

“What we are seeing is the rate of property sales in Somerset has grown from 7 per cent of total properties, two years ago and is now consistently 10 per cent of total properties every year,” Cr Brieschke said.

“This was the case in the 2021-2022 financial year and again we’re seeing a 10 per cent changeover in the 2022-2023 year.

“We welcome all the new residents who have come to enjoy our lifestyle, our lakes, our river, the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail and other great features of our rural region.

“We are grateful for all the attention that our region is receiving as shown by property sales and land values.”
