As Catholic men who work mainly for local charities, the Knights discussed charity work, career opportunities and leadership with 30 potential student leaders, mainly from the Middle Phase School.

There were 20 Knights, spouses and friends at the occasion, with the Knights also sharing pizzas with the students.

A major bonus was the appearances of Pastors Rob and Heather Porter from the Kingdom Culture Church.

Rob recently travelled to Ukraine with donated funds to purchase vehicles to transport refugees out of the war-torn country.

The students were impressed with his courage, generosity and missionary activity.

The key theme of the discussions was ‘A Random Act of Kindness’ which was initiated by Emily Reed, a leader of Molloy house.

Students from the four houses explained how they raised funds for their charity organisation, for example Duhig (Orange Sky Laundry), Driscoll (St Vincent de Paul, aka Vinnies), English (Young Care), and Molloy (Rosies).

As a random act of kindness on behalf of the Knights, chairman Kevin Donaldson donated $600 to the houses for their respective charities.

Brian Berge and Damian Jones mentioned some of the major charities including Vinnies, Caboolture Community Action Group, the School Chaplaincy Appeal, and Coast2Bay.

Also, they suggested possible interesting careers for students to pursue.

The Knights felt that everyone gained something worthwhile from the function, and the Knights were encouraged to have a return visit.

The Knights thanked co- ordinator Angela Woodriff and teachers, Paula Pellowe, Rachel Warnes, Emily Reed and others for organising the function.

The Knights acknowledged their major sponsor Brian Leeson, the publican of Trader Dukes (Kings Circle, Caboolture) where the raffles are held each Friday evening.

The Knights also acknowledged Logan and Ellyce Baines from Get Butchered (Kings Circle) for donating one of the meat trays.
