A presentation took place at the school on Wednesday, August 10, with representatives from the Woodford RSL sub branch and Woodford State School welcoming the cricket gear while awaiting five basketballs.

The cricket kit included bats, pads, gloves, stumps and helmets.

The sporting gear including the basketballs was valued at $600 following a discount from the supplier, Intersport Morayfield.

Woodford RSL Sub Branch president Geoff Sentance said the arrangement was made after he chatted with a teacher from the school who said “we could do with some cricket gear”.

“We love working with the community, and we have a good relation with the local schools,” Mr Sentance said.

Woodford State School principal Ronnie Hill appreciated the donation, saying fundraising was difficult during Covid times, especially with rising costs in food, petrol, electricity and other things.
