The signs were encouraging as a number of local school-aged children registered, while some of the attendees also enjoyed food from a barbecue.

The ESC program is offered to people aged 12 to 17 years, and operates out of an Emergency Services facility such as a local SES headquarters or a Rural Fire Service (RFS) station.

The aim of the program is to provide young people with a safe, fun and inclusive environment that offers practical life skills and leadership opportunities.
