KILCOY State High School

An Independent Public School

Welcome Back

Kilcoy State High School would like to extend a warm welcome to all of our new and returning students for 2021. This year we welcomed new students from Kilcoy, Mt Kilcoy, Woodford and Delaney’s Creek. This year we are also happy to welcome Sharon Cordiner, Acting Principal and Kelly Kuhz, Deputy Principal to Kilcoy State High School.

Sharon Cordiner – Acting Principal

I have been in education for almost 30 years. I have taught at Springwood and Dakabin State High Schools and most recently at Murrumba State Secondary College. I started at Murrumba in its foundation year as Head of Science and Maths.

I then moved into the role of Deputy Principal and Head of School. My teaching area was senior biology, science and maths. I enjoyed being a part of the outdoor education program while at Dakabin SHS, which allowed me to further develop my passion for camping and marine science.

I am married and have three grown up sons, all tradies, and value the importance of having different pathways available for students. I have a strong commitment to state education and making a positive impact on the whole child. Social-emotional wellbeing, connectedness to community and success through fostering positive future pathways is critical to my role as an educator.

Acting Principal

I am truly excited to be at Kilcoy SHS and look forward to continuing the great reputation of the school in the local community through maintaining high expectations and promoting success for all students.

Deputy Principal

Kelly Kuhz – Deputy Principal

My name is Kelly Kuhz and I grew up in Brisbane. I have had the pleasure of working in the South East Region, the Darling Downs South West Region and the North Queensland Region throughout my career as a Health and Physical Education teacher, Year Level Coordinator, Sport Coordinator, Head of Department and Deputy Principal.

It is very exciting for me to be working at Kilcoy State High School and I deeply appreciate the warm welcome that I have received. During the course of this year, I look forward to getting to know the students, families and the broader community members here in Kilcoy.

A big welcome to all of our new staff and we look forward to an exciting and successful year at Kilcoy State High.
