Big win for Caboolture in Division 1
CENTURIES to Preston White and Glen Batticciotto set up Caboolture’s resounding win over Maroochydore in the Division 1 cricket match at Elizabeth Daniels Park last Sunday.
After losing an early wicket, Caboolture racked up 297 runs for the loss of just four wickets in 50 overs.
White made 114 as an opener while Batticciotto scored 133 at number three.
Maroochydore fell 121 runs shy of the target despite 72 from Danyn Stewart.
Eight-wicket defeat at home in Division 2
Caboolture’s total of 123 proved too small as visiting team Glasshouse passed it in 27 overs for the loss of only two wickets.
Callum Byford was chiefly responsible for restricting the hosts to a modest total, as he claimed figures of 5/17.
Ample defeat at home in Division 5
Half-centuries to Alistair Baker and Josh Brooks helped Palmwoods to 9/250 in 39 overs, before host team Caboolture managed only 55 in 24 overs.
Baker followed up his hard-hitting 74 with figures of 4/7, while Luke Scott claimed 5/10.
Hefty defeat at Cooroy in Division 7
Caboolture was outplayed in the Division 7 match at Cooroy Sportsground.
The hosts compiled 265 runs for the loss of six wickets in 40 overs, before the visitors folded for just 76 in 28 overs.
Andrew Beveridge scored 114 retired for the victors before Brett Evans captured 4/18.
