Narrow defeat in Division 4

Palmwoods won the Division 4 match by three wickets at Palmwoods Sports Reserve.

Wamuran-Stanley River managed 8/144 in 36 overs before the hosts passed the target in the 30th over after losing wickets with the total at 30, 34, 51, 106, 112, 143 and 143.

Comfortable run chase in Division 7

Palmwoods tallied 164 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 35 overs, before host team Wamuran-Stanley River reached the target for the loss of just three wickets in 30 overs.

Palmwoods opening batter Colin McKay made 94 while Luke Eronen (3/20) and Cooper Marshall (2/15) were the pick of the home side’s bowlers, with Marshall also affecting a run out.

Marshall completed a fine all-round display with 48 as an opening batter, while Chris Martin top-scored with 58 in the run chase.

U12 South: Wamuran-Stanley River Red 37 (E Baker 13; O Meuleners 2/1) lost to Landsborough 5/127 (Z Jones 22 retired; E Baker 1/4).

U12 South: Caboolture Feldman 78 (C Stuart 15; J Jennings 4/3, H Bennett 2/1) beat Wamuran-Stanley River Blue 8/73 (A Runge 14; B Truman 1/2, D Henderson 1/6).

U15 South: Wamuran-Stanley River 7/167 (C Marshall 45, K Jarrett 34 retired; O Haylock 2/10) lost to Caloundra 2/182 (J Dawson 38 retired; S Kercher 1/9).
