Mayor Peter Flannery is urging skaters, scooters, BMX riders and their parents to get online before February 26 to check out the new concept designs and provide their feedback.

“Based on more than 400 survey responses Council has come up with a range of designs that will shape new skate parks in Albany Creek, Morayfield and Deception Bay,” Mayor Flannery said.

“This is $3.8 million worth of works so we want to make sure we get it right and who better to tell us than skate park users themselves.

“Initial feedback has highlighted the community’s desire to create family friendly facilities, ensure adequate lighting and shade, build more obstacles, host learn to ride workshops and more.

“I’d like to thank everyone who participated in the surveys and who shared their ideas.

“There’s more upgrades in the pipeline with plans to redesign and upgrade several skate parks across Moreton Bay, including North Lakes, Bray Park, Redcliffe and Caboolture.”
