A TRIO of Wamuran-Stanley River cricketers impressed with bat and ball in a Division 6 victory at Landsborough last weekend.

Fine all-round displays from Curtis Smith, Ash Nicholson and Ash Jones helped Wamuran-Stanley River to a 22-run victory over the host team.

Smith and Nicholson scored 39 each while Jones made 28 in the visiting team’s total of 7/194 in 40 overs, before all seven Wamuran-Stanley River bowlers shared the wickets.

Smith captured 3/36 while Jones had 2/34 as they bowled eight overs each, while Nicholson took 1/13 in three overs.

Landsborough’s Harmanjit Dahiya was left stranded on 50 not out.

Division 4 falls short in run chase

A stellar display from Addam Nicholson wasn’t quite enough for host team Wamuran-Stanley River, which lost by 15 runs against Glasshouse.

Nicholson took 3/33 in five overs as the visitors made 7/176 in 40 overs, before Nicholson top-scored in the run chase with 58 as the hosts made 8/161.

Nambour too strong in Division 7

Standout performances from Alfie Shepherd and Lachlan Braund set up a 70-run win for host team Nambour against Wamuran-Stanley River.

Shepherd hit 11 fours and four sixes in his 91 from 67 balls, in Nambour’s total of 7/170 in 30 overs.

Wamuran-Stanley River slumped to 9/64 before a last wicket stand of 36 enabled the team to reach three figures.

Braund snared 5/28.

U12 South: Wamuran-Stanley River Red 7/91 (J Jennings 2/10) lost to Wamuran-Stanley River Blue 6/132 (J Jennings 27 not out, R Lang 23 not out; R Rogers 2/6, S Harvey 2/11).
