Run chase falls well short in Div 4

Set a target of 221, visiting team Wamuran-SR batted its full 40 overs but fell 63 runs shy of victory.

Only four wickets fell in Glasshouse’s innings, with opening batter Ben Diggles hammering 11 fours and three sixes in his 83.

Seven of Wamuran-SR’s batters reached double digits but nobody made a big score, and there were no sizeable partnerships as the visitors fell behind the required run rate.

Landsborough survives scare in Div 6

Home team Wamuran-SR succumbed for just 118 in 26.1 overs, as none of the batters could spend a lengthy time at the crease.

The hosts still had a good chance of winning as Landsborough crumbled to 6/56, with Reece Clark and Chris Smart doing most of the damage.

A 48-run partnership unfolded before the seventh wicket fell, and Landsborough ultimately won by three wickets and with seven overs to spare.

Harmanjit Dahiya scored a painstaking 18 not out from 89 balls at number four.

Sundries made a key difference, as Wamuran-SR’s bowlers sent down 29 wides compared with 10 wides from the Landsborough bowlers.

Two century-makers in Div 7

A slashing century from Wamuran-SR opener David Baker was in vain as Nambour cantered to a seven-wicket victory on Wamuran soil.

After scoring 145 in a big win over Palmwoods a week earlier, Baker slammed 14 sixes and just four fours in his 123 off 60 balls against Nambour.

Wamuran-SR was 2/174 when Baker departed, and the rest of the batting failed to fire as the hosts were dismissed for 233 in 39.1 overs.

The total still looked formidable, until Nambour opener Nathan Guild launched a furious assault on the bowling as he blasted 22 sixes and nine fours in his unbeaten 188 from just 75 balls.

The visitors raced to the target in 24 overs, after being shakily placed at 2/36.
