Snakes U16 Black Boys lose direction in second half

The Caboolture Snakes Black Boys matched it with their Caloundra Sharks Gold counterparts in the first half, before the Sharks went on a second-half scoring spree to comfortably win the U16 Division 1 junior rugby league grand final.

Jayden Alefaio bursts through the banner as he leads the Caboolture Snakes U16 Black Boys team onto the playing arena.

The teams were locked at 12-all when half-time sounded, before Caloundra romped to a 40-12 lead and ultimately prevailed 40-16.

Bayden Hales opened the scoring for the Snakes before he later exited the match with injury, while Caloundra moved to a 12-6 lead.

A converted try to the Snakes in the lead-up to half-time gave them hope for the second half, but the Sharks gained the momentum and kept their foot on the accelerator until the home team scored a consolation try.

A full wrap of grand final day will appear in the September 9 edition of The Sentinel News.
