Preston White scored 49 and then took three wickets for Caboolture against Nambour in Division 1 cricket last Saturday, after capturing 13 wickets in the previous round.

The visiting team amassed 303 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 53 overs, before the hosts began their reply soundly and then stumbled to 6/107 in 57 overs.

Glen Batticciotto excelled with bat and ball as he scored a century and followed up with three wickets.

Preston White scored 42 runs in boundaries as he made 49 in an opening partnership of 63 before he was the first batter dismissed.

White’s departure brought Batticciotto to the crease, and he had a day out as he struck 10 fours and nine sixes in his 128 not out from 124 balls.

Batticciotto received good support from Matthew Schubert (42 from 31 balls) and Jordan Watt (33 from 49 balls).

Steven Ledger was the pick of Nambour’s bowlers with 4/87 from 18 overs, while Jatinder Singh captured two wickets while conceding 103 runs in his 17 overs.

Nambour’s opening batters put on a solid partnership of 65 before Batticciotto bowled Angus Douglas for 20, and this sparked a batting collapse as wickets fell with the total at 70, 86, 87, 93 and 96.

Batticciotto had 3/18 from 14 miserly overs while White took 3/49 in 28 overs, after capturing 13 wickets in his previous outing with his left-arm spinners.

Meanwhile, wet conditions in Morayfield, Caboolture and Wamuran prevented Caboolture’s other teams from playing.
