Thirteen wickets for Preston White

OUTSTANDING performances from Matthew Schubert and Preston White enabled Caboolture to beat Caloundra by an innings in the Division 1 cricket match at Caboolture Sports Cricket Club.


Caboolture’s Preston White excelled in Division 1 as he scored 49 runs and captured 13 wickets.

Schubert starred on day one with 112 while White scored 49 as an opening batter in Caboolture’s total of 7/288, before wickets tumbled on day two.

Caloundra was dismissed for 96 and 139, with White claiming figures of 8/32 and 5/53.

White bowled 20.1 overs in Caloundra’s first innings, and 29 overs in Caloundra’s second innings.

Schubert’s glovework was particularly impressive in Caloundra’s second innings as he picked up four stumpings.

Caboolture loses advantage in Division 2

Caboolture won on the first innings but host team Caloundra had the better of the Division 2 match in the end.

Wayne Dolden scored 73 in Caloundra’s first innings total of 109, before Caboolture declared at 5/110.

Caloundra amassed 2/238 from 43 overs in its second innings and then declared, before the visiting team struggled to 5/65 from 21.3 overs.

Glasshouse gains the points in Division 5

After dismissing Caboolture for 99, host team Glasshouse established a 30-run lead on the first innings before the visitors finished their second innings at 7/146.

Runs were at a premium as Caboolture’s first innings lasted 52 overs, before Glasshouse faced 54.2 overs and then sent down 49.1 overs.

Glasshouse Gold wins women’s contest in final over

The Caboolture women’s team made a competitive total of 6/116 in its 20 overs, before home team Glasshouse Gold passed the target with two balls remaining and four wickets in hand.

The hosts stumbled a few times in the run chase as they went from 2/76 to 4/77, and later slipped from 4/111 to 6/112.

Sundries proved decisive, as Caboolture’s total included 20 runs from illegal deliveries before Caboolture’s bowlers gave away 36 runs in illegitimate bowling.

U12 South: Caboolture Feldman 5/202 (B Truman 33 not out, E McGrath 29 retired; E Francis 3/29) beat Nambour Gold 65 (W Fielding 18; B Truman 3/8, E McGrath 1/0).

U13 South: USC Purple 146 (I Rafter 54 not out; A Gordon 3/9) lost to Caboolture Starc 4/153 (K Keating 38 not out, B Tuza 30 retired; J Mahony 2/15).

U13 South: Maroochydore Red 134 (H King 3/14, K Clement 2/8) beat Caboolture Hazlewood 131 (C Herson 63, L Clegg 33 not out).

U15 South: Caboolture 79 (J Truman 27; N Wallden 4/9, O White 3/20) v USC Purple 4/138 (Z Moore 32, J Reeves 30; L Crowe and B Jones 1/7).
